CH Marlin
2012-2017
We sadly lost Marlin too early to a spinal cord cyst called Arachnoid Diverticula, which was inoperable and affected his ability to walk. Neurologists I consulted with did not believe it was hereditary in his case, so we have kept the frozen semen on him.
Marlin is co-owned with Mimi Kim of Saravilla Great Danes. Mimi is an AKC Judge and experienced breeder with over 20 years in the breed, and I am fortunate to call her a friend and mentor. Marlin is from the Cameo x Vegas litter, co-bred by Mimi and JP Yousha of Chromadane which also produced the Best Junior in Futurity at the 2013 national specialty, CH Nola, and GCH Tipsy. Marlin’s show career was a fantastic introduction to the world of AKC conformation showing for me, even if he spoiled me by how easy it was! He won Winner’s Dog at a large specialty for five points his first day in the ring at only 6 months old, and picked up his second major before one year old. After a break to mature, he came out under Corinne Witt with another 5 point major reserve, and then to finish his single points easily, going winners dog 5 times in a row. Unfortunately, a tail injury prevented his special career, but he is busy producing the next generation of champions!
Health testing is important! Marlin has been checked by specialists and found to have normal heart, eyes, thyroid, and excellent hips. Link here to results.
